2008 Top 10

1. Oklahoma - The Sooners are loaded and serious title contenders. QB Sam Bradford will be a sophomore, as will standout RB DeMarco Murray. Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, LB Curtis Lofton, will probably be back, as will sophomore DE Auston English.
2. Florida - Heisman winner QB Tim Tebow returns to lead an offense that may actually have a running game, as USC transfer Emmanuel Moody arrives on the field.
3. Georgia - Much rests on the arm of QB Matthew Stafford. Knowshon Moreno can run, and the Bulldogs will again be stout defensively, but they need their QB to step up his play a notch.
4. USC - Obviously, they have great talent, and coach Pete Carroll will probably be around even if he considers taking the Falcons job (why, Pete?) The real question is at QB, where Mark Sanchez and Mitch Mustain will fight to be the starter. One of them will get to hand the ball pretty often to sophomore RB Joe McKnight, which is a very good thing.
5. Missouri - Heisman finalist QB Chase Daniel returns, as do most defensive starters. They lose RB Tony Temple, TE Martin Rucker and WR Will Franklin, but have a lot of explosiveness remaining.
6. LSU - True, they lose a lot, including all-world DT Glenn Dorsey, but the show will now belong to QB Ryan Perrilloux, and if he can keep maturing on and off the field, that should excite Tigers fans.
7. Texas - They lose RB Jamaal Charles, but QB colt
McCoy returns and he should improve after an up and down sophomore year. The Longhorns will have their usual plethora of talent and challenge for a Big 12 title.8. West Virginia - QB Pat White and RB Noel Devine return, and RB Steve Slaton most likely will. A new coach means things will be a bit different, but expect more of the same unstoppable rushing attack.
9. Ohio State - The Buckeyes are in store for another solid campaign, led by RB Chris Wells, who certainly wasn't at fault for their BCS loss.
10. Kansas - We'll put them here for now, but they could fall precipitously in 2008. OT Anthony Collins and CB Aqib Talib are going to the NFL, and the Jayhawks, who were criticized for their toilet paper soft schedule this year, won't be able to avoid Texas Tech, Texas and Oklahoma in '08.
