Our series on the NFL's best players, by position, continues with wide receiver.
The Arizona Cardinals' Anquan Boldin is the best wideout in the NFL, in a tight race with Tory Holt, Steve Smith and Roy Williams.
Boldin edges these others because of superior size and strength. The fact that Arizona has had such an unsettled quarterback situation in Boldin's four seasons also makes us wonder what he'll do now that the position is settled with second-year QB Matt Leinart.
Boldin has been remarkably consistent, even with a bevy of average passers.
The 6-1, 223 Boldin has two 100-catches in just four seasons, and he added 83 and 1,200 yards last year, even as Leinart was learning the NFL's most difficult position.
Now, that Arizona has bolstered its offensive line, which will undoubtedly improve the running game, even more pressure will be taken away from Boldin. With another star, Larry Fitzgerald, opposite of Boldin, the latter just might be even more spectacular in 2007, which is hard to believe.
The NFL has a host of excellent wide receivers, but we believe Anquan Boldin is the best of the best.
