Filed in archive NFL on April 28, 2010

David King, a journeyman footballer sharing name with a North Melbourne premiership has ended up signing a contract as punter with American football giant, the New England Patriots. He has ended up signing a one year deal which could be as much as $320,000. He has been pursuing his NFL kicking dream since late 2008. He states that he will be learning about American football over the next few weeks.
In an interview with ESPN, David King said:
It's a learning process for myself and hopefully over the next few weeks I can make a good impression and manage to stick around.
David King will inspire more Australians to follow the American game. He was confused with former Kangaroos half back David King, who played in North Melbourne's 1996 and 1999 flag winning outfits but today he is a known face.
