4th Round
TE Martin Rucker, Cleveland Browns: Taken with the 12th pick of the round, Rucker brings another weapon to the Browns' offense. He has the bloodlines, being the brother of newly retired DE Mike Rucker, formerly of the Carolina Panthers. He also has the production. In four years at Missouri, Rucker caught 203 passes for 2,175 yards. Though his strength and speed are average, Browns fans will love his tenacity, especially after the catch, as he always goes for extra yards and it often takes at least two defenders to bring him down.
S Craig Steltz, Chicago Bears: The 21st pick of the fourth round, Steltz is like Rucker in that his speed and strength are seen as average, but he produced at LSU. Steltz has good instincts and always seems to be around the ball, as indicated by last season's 101 tackles, seven pass break ups, six interceptions and three forced fumbles.
5th Round
OG Roy Schuening, St. Louis Rams: Schuening was the 22nd pick in the round for the Rams. For a team that really needed help on the offensive line, Schuening should provide that. The former Oregon State product's best attribute is probably his toughness and durability. He started 50 straight games for the beavers, a record for that university.
6th Round
LB Geno Hayes, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A Florida State product, Hayes was the 9th pick of the round. Like many picks in later rounds, Hayes has flaws, and his is size. At only about 225 pounds, he is seemingly undersized to play linebacker, but in the Tampa 2 zone scheme, he should fit right in.
RB Mike Hart, Indianapolis Colts: Hart finally came off the board with the 36th pick of the round. He obviously dropped due to his relative lack of size and poor 40-yard-dash times, but there is absolutely no denying his production at the University of Michigan. Some players are just natural football players, and Hart seems to be one of those guys. Because if he is so short and slow, how else do you explain his career totals of 5,098 rushing yards and 41 rushing touchdowns?
