With week 10 of the NFL season upon us, each team has now played at least half of their schedule. Let's get nostalgic and take a look at some of the worst quarterback and running back performances of the year.
Quarterback
- Tarvaris Jackson, Vikings: Week 2, 20-17 loss to Detroit – 17-33, 166 yards, 0 TD, 4 Int, 26.4 rating. This type of performance, and his injuries, have led the team to sign Koy Detmer as a back-up.
- Rex Grossman, Bears: Week 3, 24-3 loss to Tampa Bay – 15-32, 195 yards, 0 TD, 3 Int, 27.5 rating. Griese would get the call soon.
- Jon Kitna, Lions: Week 5, 34-3 loss to Washington – 16-29, 106 yards, 0 TD, 2 Int, 34.6 rating, sacked 6 times.
- Gus Frerotte, Rams: Week 6, 22-3 loss to Baltimore – 19-36, 208 yards, 0 TD, 5 Int, 1 fumble, 30.6 rating.
- Quinn Gray, Jaguars: Week 7, 29-7 loss to Indianapolis – 9-24, 56 yards, 0 TD, 2 Int, 1 fumble, 11.1 rating. To be fair, he was came into the game in relief, but that 11.1 QB rating still sticks out.
- Kurt Warner, Cardinals: Week 9, 17-10 loss to Tampa Bay – 10-30, 172 yards, 0 TD, 2 Int, 26.0 rating
Running Back
- Cedric Benson, Bears: Week 1, 14-3 loss to San Diego – 19 carries, 42 yds, 2.2 avg, 1 fumble, long run of 11. The first of many bad performances by Benson.
- Julius Jones, Cowboys: Week 2, 37-20 win vs. Miami – 15 carries, 32 yds, 2.1 avg, long run of 7. Has seen less and less playing time.
- Larry Johnson, Chiefs: Week 3, 13-10 win vs. Minnesota – 24 carries, 42 yds, 1.8 avg, long run of 10
- LaMont Jordan, Raiders: Week 8, 13-9 loss to Tennessee – 12 carries, 16 yards, 1.3 avg, long run of 7. Since been replaced by Justin Fargas as Raiders starter.
- Willie Parker, Steelers: Week 9, 38-7 win vs. Baltimore – 23 carries, 42 yds, 1.8 avg, long run of 5. Parker's been great, but this was his worst game by far. Not that they needed him, as Roethlisberger and the Steelers defense took care of things.
