signing, or their team's latest free agent loss.- The Falcoholic, on the Atlanta Falcons' signing of RB Michael Turner:
The Falcons won't touch a running back in the first round now ... the signing of Michael Turner has changed the face of this franchise almost instantly.
- Cincy Jungle, on the San Francisco 49ers signing of DE Justin Smith:
There's nothing Smith has done in his career that made teams go "crap, we have to pay attention to that guy". Maybe Smith might find his place in San Francisco. However, to say that I'm excited that we don't have to pay that money for him, knowing his historical performances, would be an understatement.
- Bleeding Green Nation, on the Philadelphia Eagles' signing of CB Asante Samuel:
Make no mistake about it, this team was in desperate need of a playmaker on defense. They needed a guy that creates turnovers and they got one.
- The Landry Hat, on the Houston Texans' signing of CB Jacques Reeves:
I will tell ya, it's good to see him gone because he caused a lot of heartache this season. His coverage skills were inconsistent and he really wasn't very good. Despite that, he surprisingly gets a 5 year $20 million deal with the Texas. Yikes. Did they watch any game tape? I wouldn't pay him $500,000.
- Waiting For Next Year, on the Cleveland Browns' acquisition of WR Donte Stallworth (pictured):
While Stallworth may not be an elite WR, the good news is that the Browns don't need him to be. They already have Pro Bowler Braylon Edwards. Stallworth is still extremely fast and what he does do is pose a serious deep threat...something the Browns offense has been lacking.
