Best late-round wide receiver -- Braylon Edwards
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards is entering his third season. This is typically the time that wideouts in the NFL begin to flourish. Edwards had a very solid sophomore year with 60 catches and nearly 900 yards.
Edwards is the prototypical NFL pass-catcher. He's 6-3, 210 and runs like a gazelle. Edwards drops balls occasionally, but he also makes the spectacular grab and can climb the proverbial ladder over defenders in the end zone.
The 2007 season could be Edwards' best as a pro. If the Browns can settle their quarterback situation (Charlie Frye and rookie Brady Quinn will compete for the starting job), and the offensive line plays up to its potential, fantasy football owners can expect 75 catches, 1,100 yards and 8 touchdowns from Edwards.
With the Browns being pretty unsettled as a team, with a possible quarterback controversy, many owners will shy away from Edwards, making him potentially the best late-round receiver in your fantasy football draft. No matter who is passing the football in Cleveland, Edwards will be on the receiving end.
Depending on the number of teams in your league, wait until rounds 6-9, before grabbing Braylon Edwards. Then, start him every week as your number two wideout, and you'll love what you get.
