Close your eyes for a moment and picture the Kansas City Chiefs in a football game. The Chiefs are on offense, and quarterback Brody Croyle (who?) is about to take the snap.
Croyle takes the football, turns very deliberately toward the backfield and hands to none other than Priest Holmes.
Wait a minute, I meant Larry Johnson, right?
Wrong. The rumor that former star tailback Holmes could return is now looking like a fact.
Holmes, who suffered a spinal injury that knocked him off the football field indefinitely back in October of 2005, has been cleared by doctors to take part in training camp.
With Johnson's potential holdout, this could be a huge break for Kansas City. If Holmes can live up to his old form, Johnson may not even be missed.
Holmes is one of the NFL's real good guys, too, so this couldn't have happened to a better person.

This seems a bit too good to be true, and Chiefs mgmt certainly will go with the flow on this since it puts pressure on LJ. I'd like to see Holmes do it, but can't imagine it happening.

If anyone can do it, Priest Holmes can. It's amazing what this guy has done in his career. Every time someone told him he couldn't do something, he did it.
I love him, and I hope he gains 1,500 yards and scores 20 TDs while Larry Johnson watches.
