Curtis Martin wants to play some more football. The 34-year-old New York Jets running back is the fourth-leading rusher in nfl history, but he hasn't played in a professional football game since December of 2005.
It appeared that Martin's NFL career might be over, when the Jets traded for former Bears running back Thomas Jones this off-season. Jones is penciled in as the starting tailback, and he's a pretty good one.
With Martin scheduled to make $3.25 million in 2007, his release seemed imminent, but the 12-year veteran elected to take a pay cut to the NFL league minimum for a player of his seniority, which is $820,000.
Obviously, Curtis Martin is more concerned with winning than with making millions of dollars -- extremely rare for NFL players.
