Daunte Culpepper says he's ready to play, but is he?

quarterback Daunte Culpepper says he'll be ready for the 2007 NFL season, and why should anyone doubt him?Because he's played just 11 games in the past two seasons; that's the biggest reason. He's recovering from major knee surgery, and can barely walk, much less scramble.
Plus, in his last 11 games, Culpepper looked about as average as a C student. In those 11 games, Culpepper threw just eight touchdown passes and 15 interceptions.
Culpepper is about the oldest 30-year-old man on the planet. He looked tired, before he was injured, and now he's taking baby steps while attempting to return to a Miami team that wants nothing to do with him.
The sad truth is that Daunte Culpepper needs to retire. It's especially sad when you consider that Culpepper is a guy who is only two seasons removed from passing for over 4,700 yards and 39 touchdowns.
He's got five full seasons in the NFL; he's 30, and he's finished.
It's time for Daunte Culpepper to exit, while his dignity is still in tact.
