- Feb. 1, 1950: Curly Lambeau resigns as Green Bay Packers after 29 seasons
- Feb. 1, 1968: Vince Lombardi resigns as Green Bay Packers head coach.
- Feb. 4, 1969: John Madden is named Oakland Raiders head coach.
- Feb. 5, 1991: The Big East football conference is created.
- Feb. 8, 1963: Dallas Texans move to Kansas City and become the Chiefs.
- Feb. 10, 1961: Los Angeles Chargers move to San Diego.
- Feb. 11, 1997: Bill Parcells is named coach of the New York Jets.
- Feb. 13, 1937: The Redskins move from Boston to Washington, D.C.
- Feb. 14, 1965: The rights to the 1966 and 1967 NFL Championship Games were sold to CBS for $2 million per game.
- Feb. 15, 1965: NFL teams pledge not to sign college seniors until they have completed their seasons.
- Feb. 16, 1990: College juniors become eligible for NFL draft.
- Feb. 19, 1965: A sixth official is added to games.
- Feb. 23, 1983: Herschel Walker signs with the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League for $5 million over 3 years.
- Feb. 25, 1989: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fires head coach Tom Landry after 29 seasons as the team's coach.
- Feb. 27, 1987: Southern Methodist University's football program is given the "death penalty," resulting in the cancellation of the 1987 and 1988 seasons.
