Clemson got beat down by Alabama, USC decimated Virginia , South Carolina crushed North Carolina State, and Virginia Tech was upset by East Carolina. And the winners? Well, Miami, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Boston College and Duke, all beat their opponents handily. But they should have, because those opponents were Charleston Southern, Baylor, Jacksonville State, Kent State and James Madison, respectively. But Maryland squeaked by Delaware 14-7, and North Carolina struggled to beat McNeese State, 35-27.
Exactly what happened to this conference is hard to figure out, but this much is clear - they are the worst of the BCS conferences - lagging just behind the big east. The good news is, only Miami has a really difficult game coming up next week, when they travel to meet No. 5 Florida.
