With football comes injuries. It's simply inevitable. Here is a look at some of the notable injuries in camps so far.

- Braylon Edwards of Cleveland had his foot stepped on by teammate Donte Stallworth, and he had to go to the hospital to get stitches. He'll miss the team's next preseason game, but it doesn't sound like the injury is too serious. Also, both of Cleveland's top two draft picks are now out with injuries, as linebacker Beau Bell and tight end Martin Rucker will miss some time.

- Vikings safety Madieu Williams will miss six weeks with a neck ailment. This is a significant blow to a team that was counting on him to help shore up their awful pass defense.

- The Jaguars are without two wide receivers, Jerry Porter and Reggie Williams, as they recover from hamstring surgery and knee surgery, respectively.

- Rams fourth-round pick, CB Justin King, will miss the entire season with a toe malady. He was on his way to getting some quality playing time before getting hurt in the team's preseason opener.

- Pittsburgh lost their punter, Daniel Sepulveda, for the entire season also as he suffered a torn ACL. It may not seem like a big deal on the surface, but it certainly has an impact on the team's special teams play.

- WR Plaxico Burress is just getting up to speed now as he is still suffering from an injury to his right ankle. He had not practiced with the Giants until yesterday, and he still isn't going full bore.

These are but a few of the injuries suffered so far in camps. It's the one thing that fans, coaches, players and entire organizations fear about the preseason. Which is why players like LaDainian Tomlinson get little work in the exhibition contests, and part of the reason why the Rams are not yet fretting over the absence of Steven Jackson.
