Is Nick Saban worth Alabama fans worship?

It took all of about 10 seconds for Alabama fans to begin their worship of Nick Saban, when he became the Crimson Tide's new head coach.
Search high and low, and you won't find a single Saban detractor.
I have to wonder why this is. I mean, apart from one national championship at LSU, Saban's coaching record is quite pedestrian.
Other than the 13-1 2003 season, Saban has never guided a team to more than 9 wins in a season. He was 34-24-1 in five years at Michigan State.
Take away the 2003 year, and Saban's SEC record is 20-11 in four seasons. If Ohio State's Jim Tressel lost 11 conference games in four years, he'd be hanged in effigy.
And what has Saban done as a head coach lately? Hmm, let's see. Oh, that's right, he went 15-17 in two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, before jumping ship and leaping into the embracing arms of Alabama fans, so starved for a winner that they would have welcomed Butch Davis
, if he had come running.Nick Saban's average season as a head college coach, including his 13-1 year, is 8-4.
I just can't believe that this is the kind of football that the victory-starved fans in Tuscaloosa will accept.
