Roy Hall. Remember the name. You probably won't hear it announced by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on day one of this year's NFL draft. You may not hear the name Roy Hall until day two, as late as the sixth or seventh round.

When someone steps to the podium and announces Ohio State wide receiver Roy Hall as a late-round NFL draft pick, log the name into your long-term memory.

Roy Hall just might be this year's Marques Colston.

Last year, Colston was the unknown receiver, drafted in the seventh round by the New Orleans Saints out of Hofstra University.

Like Hall, Colston is big, one of the main reasons he was drafted at all.

Colston went on to stun Saints fans and the entire NFL, catching 70 passes for 1,038 yards and 8 touchdowns as a rookie.

Unlike Colston, Roy Hall played at a football power, Ohio State. Hall has a national championship ring, and he caught the first touchdown against Michigan last season. Beyond these feats, though, Roy Hall had an unremarkable college career, playing behind star receivers, like Santonio Holmes and Tedd Ginn, Jr.

In fact, most NFL coaches and scouts didn't even know who Roy Hall was, when they attended Ohio State's pro day in March.

That changed, though, when the 6-3, 240-pound Hall stepped onto the track and ran 4.35 in the 40-yard dash and caught everything thrown his way, while running crisp routes.

Suddenly, NFL coaches were drooling. They'd stumbled upon a guy built like a tight end, who runs like a tailback and catches balls like he's got velcro for fingertips.

Still, Hall's modest statistics at Ohio State will keep him hidden for a good portion of the 2007 nfl draftlinks.

Then, sometime during the second day, when most fans think all of the best players are taken, a smart NFL general manager will send the name Roy Hall to the podium.

A few months later, people will be watching Roy Hall and no doubt compare him to last year's great sleeper, Marques Colston.

Of course, you won't be surprised, because you'll remember the name.
