NFL Divisional Playoffs Preview

As is the case nearly every year, the NFL's Divisional playoff round brings the promise of four fantastic games. Let's look at some predictions.
Seattle 27, Green Bay 24
This is the one upset I think has the best chance of happening. Statistically, these two teams have remarkably similar defenses, though nobody seems to know about Seattle's. The Seahawks have four Pro Bowlers on that side of the ball, along with a Pro Bowl QB in Matt Hasselbeck. Brett Favre has had a great year, and RB Ryan Grant has solidified the running game, but do the young Packers know how to handle the pressure of the playoffs? Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy will make his first head coaching foray into the NFL postseason and it will be interesting to see how the team responds. This has all the makings of an extremely tight game, just like the last playoff match-up between these two. Make it a Josh Brown (and his warmed pants) field goal
at the end to win it for Seattle.New England 35, Jacksonville 24
All week, we've been hearing all about how the Jaguars have a great chance to upset the Patriots. Maybe it's because that's what people want to have happen, but realistically, it's hard to believe Jacksonville will pull the upset in New England. Not that the Jags don't have a chance. If they continually pound the rock and keep Brady and Co. off the field, they might be able to pull off the upset. But nobody's stopped their offense yet, so I'll believe it when I see it.
Indianapolis 27, San Diego 17
Without a healthy Antonio Gates, and with an often erratic Philip Rivers, it may be tough for San Diego to put many points on the board. Indy actually had the best defense in the NFL in points allowed, and playing at home, in the dome, will be tough on the Chargers. Peyton Manning didn't have a particularly great game against San Diego earlier in the year, throwing six interceptions, so he'll be focused on making up for that and avenging the team's loss that day.
Dallas 28, N.Y. Giants 20
Forget the Tony Romo/Jessica Simpson brouhaha. It's on overblown non-story that people are focused on for reasons known only to them. Romo had a few days and went on vacation with his girlfriend. I'm certain other members of the four teams with a bye did exactly the same thing. Only nobody knows or cares because they aren't dating reality TV stars. Romo will prove all the doubters wrong, have a huge game, and then people will start talking about how Jessica Simpson will ruin the NFC Championship game.
