NFL Draft Prospects - Arrested

Ever since Roger Goodell turned into Elliot Ness after taking the job as NFL commissioner, teams are taking a hard look at the character of the players they select in the NFL Draft. With that, let's take a look at some notable players, and their rap sheet.
- South Florida CB Mike Jenkins: Jenkins was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer without violence last summer. According to the St. Petersburg Times, police were responding to a call of a large fight, and "when an officer told Jenkins to back away from the fight, Jenkins 'turned around towards the officer and appeared to take an aggressive stance,'" the arrest report said. Jenkins later went through a pre-trial diversion program, meaning the charges would be dropped after certain conditions, such as community service, were met.
- Indiana WR James Hardy: Hardy was arrested for domestic battery and interference with the reporting of a crime. He was accused of getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend. Like Jenkins, Hardy also went through a diversion program.
- Hawaii QB colt brennan: Most college football fans know Brennan's story. He was arrested for drunkenly entering a girl's room at Colorado and fondling her. He was convicted of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass, both of which are felonies. Brennan was sentenced to seven days in jail and four years probation.
- Nebraska QB Sam Keller: Keller's violation was relatively minor, as he was cited for disturbing the peace after a woman took a parking spot he wanted. This is how ESPN.com reported the story: "Campus police cited Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller Thursday for disturbing the peace after he allegedly yelled profanities at a woman who took a parking spot he was waiting for in a campus parking garage. The woman, a student, told campus police Keller got out of his car, yelled and threw a plastic cup at her car, said University Police Capt. Carl Oestmann." The charges were later dropped.
- Virginia Tech DE Chris Ellis and WR Josh Morgan: The players were arrested at the same time, both for obstructing an officer. The Washington Post reported that the two were in a large crowd that was on the brink of fighting. When officers broke it up, they "arrived to observe Morgan exhibit behavior that was disorderly in nature," he refused to be arrested, so they gave him a shot of pepper spray. Ellis then interceded, and he was arrested. Both received sentences of community service, anger management counseling and a year of probation.
- Nebraska WR Maurice Purify: Purify was actually arrested two different times last offseason. First on a litany of charges, including two counts of assault, trespassing, failure to comply and resisting arrest for an incident at a bar. Just weeks later, he was arrested for DUI. He was sentenced to pay a $1,250 fine and received one year of probation.
