Terrell Owens and Julius Jones are looking forward to continuing their careers in Dallas, under new coach Wade Phillips.
Most NFL fans know the long and tired history of Owens, the NFL's biggest mouth and one of its most talented wide receivers. In spite of a few run-ins with former Dallas coach Bill Parcells and some Cowboys teammates last season, Owens posted very nice numbers: 85 catches, 1,185 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Owens has been remarkably quiet this off-season and looks to be a major part of Dallas' offense in 2007.
Jones, on the other hand, seemed like the odd man out at the end of 2006, as Marion Barber began getting most of the carries the final six games. Jones did run for a career-high 1,080 yards and a per-carry average of 4.1.
Barber was the man around the end zone, though, scoring 16 touchdowns to just four for Jones.
With phillips running the show in Big D, things may change, and Jones role may increase dramatically. Phillips likes the explosiveness Jones brings (he had a 77-yard touchdown run last season).
And Jones likes the laid-back style of Phillips and his new coaching staff. Parcells was anything but laid back.
So, if Owens can keep his mouth closed and hands on the football, and Jones can remain healthy and break some big runs early, they may both have big seasons in Big D in 2007.
