Originally, this was going to be an attempt to rank the best NFL QB combos. But that's a little too mundane. I mean, how can I rank the Indianapolis Colts' QB tandem when Jim Sorgi never sees playing time except when the Colts have clinched a playoff spot and they're trying to keep Peyton Manning healthy? So we go in the opposite direction, and take on the task of putting together the list of the NFL's worst QB combinations. Keep in mind, this is about the unit as a whole, not just the starter.

Tennessee Titans: I can hear the blood boiling and can sense the veins protruding from people's necks, but the fact is Vince Young cannot throw. He's good at scrambling. Fine. But a career that has seen him throw 9 more interceptions than touchdown passes while completing barely 57% of his passes and compiling a passer rating of 69.0 is not quality quarterback play. The rest of the QB's don't inspire much confidence either, with 79-year-old Kerry Collins as the back-up and either Paul Thompson or Ingle Martin as the third man.

Baltimore Ravens: A QB triumvirate of two first-round draft picks and a Heisman Trophy winner can't be all bad, right? Well, at least one of the first-rounders has had ample opportunity to prove he can play, and Kyle Boller has failed to do so. Troy Smith isn't someone we know a whole lot about, but he is vertically challenged and his long release is usually a no-no in the NFL. Obviously, Joe Flacco provides hope and a huge arm, but he still has to prove himself.

Atlanta Falcons Atlanta has four QB's on their roster, and one of them, probably D.J. Shockley, won't stick. Matt Ryan and his $72 million contract are in for a test, but of course, he has promise. Joey Harrington does not have promise, as his was left somewhere in the greater Detroit area. As for Chris Redman, while he was pretty good at the end of last year, he has about as much arm strength as Mark Prior has had the last few years.

Miami Dolphins Ugh. This group is messy. Josh McCown has always teased with his ability but has never been consistent. Or good, really. John Beck was, well, he wasn't good last year. That leaves second-round pick Chad Henne out of Michigan as the guy who gives Fins fans some hope for better things to come. And really, it can't get much worse, right?

Kansas City Chiefs: It's probably not good when the best thing anybody can say about the QB's on the roster is that one of them has a hot wife. Which is probably the only good thing Brodie Croyle brought to Kansas City last season. Damon Huard had the job and lost it, and behind him will be an epic battle between Tyler Thigpen and David Greene. May the best man win.
