Top 10 Projection - NFL Draft
Now that all of the underclassmen have declared, let's take a very early look at a top 10 projection of the 2008 NFL draft.

1. Miami Dolphins - Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU: Dorsey would fill a major need for the Fins at defensive tackle. The team currently has seven DT's on the roster. Two of them have over 10 years of experience, while the other five have no more than two years.

2. St Louis Rams - Chris Long, DE, Virginia: The Rams may look to trade out of this spot, but if not, Long fills a need at defensive end. Leonard Little is 33 and coming off an injury, while James Hall was just average and not much of a threat to rush the passer.

3. Oakland Raiders* - Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas: Questions have arisen recently about McFadden's character and the amount of contact he initiates with his running style, but he's still a special talent and would be a great complement to QB JaMarcus Russelllinks for many years.

4. Atlanta Falcons* - Jake Long, OT, Michigan: The Falcons have obvious needs at quarterback, but is there really a top 5-worthy QB in this draft? Atlanta allowed their QB's to get sacked 47 times last season, and Long can help remedy that problem at a position where they can really use a premium player.

5. Kansas City Chiefs* - Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State: K.C. has the same offensive problems as Atlanta, so if they pick fourth, they may snag Long. They have a young QB in Brodie Croyle, who will probably get another shot at being their QB of the present and future, but if they're ready to give up on him, it's possible they think about taking a QB.

6. New York Jets - Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB, Ohio State: The Jets need defense, and Gholston can fill the team's need at either DE or outside linebacker, to help get the team out of the bottom 10 of the NFL in sacks.

7. New England Patriots (from 49ers) - Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida: With cornerback Asante Samuel possibly leaving in free agency, the Patriots have a need there, and Jenkins, along with Kansas CB Aqib Talib, are the best bets.

8. Baltimore Ravens - Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College: The first QB comes off the board here, as Baltimore continues their never-ending search for a franchise player at the position.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC: The Bengals are perilously thin at DT, and the team needs to restock the position while trying to get their defense more playmakers to match the potential of their offense.

10. New Orleans Saints - Dan Connor, LB, Penn State: The Saints are solid though not spectacular at linebacker, and Penn State is known as "Linebacker U." for a reason. Connor will be the next in a long line of successful Nittany Lion 'backers at the pro level.

(* = Coin flip at combine will decide order of 3rd, 4th and 5th picks in draft, though K.C. must pick behind Oakland)
