Week 8 NFL Fantasy Freaks

QB Donovan McNabb: While this week may not be the best for Eagles running backs, it's great for McNabb and his receivers. They play the Minnesota Vikings, and if there's one thing we know the Vikings can do, it's stop the run. On the other hand, they aren't so hot against the pass. In fact, they're dead last in the NFL in passing yards allowed, as they give up 282.5 yards per game. That's worst in the league by over 12 yards. And McNabb, while not playing spectacular football, has only thrown 2 interceptions all season long, to go with 7 TD passes.
RB Willie Parker: The Steelers go into Cincinnati to face the Bengals and their defense, which is allowing over 30 points and 135 yards rushing per game. That's a good thing for Parker, who goes into the game with the fifth most rushing yards in the NFL (although if he had 4 more yards, he'd be third). One thing Parker hasn't done much of is score. Of the top 11 rushers in the league, only he and Travis Henry have failed to score multiple touchdowns on the ground. Look for that to change Sunday.
RB Marshawn Lynch: Lynch has struggled a bit in terms of yards per carry average, but he has been productive nonetheless. In fact, he has at least 79 total yards in every game he's played. He also has 4 touchdown runs, and he's proven to be effective out of the backfield catching passes. Now, with rookie Trent Edwards becoming Buffalo's full time starter at QB, expect Lynch to get even more work. That's good news for his owners in fantasy football, especially this weekend, when Buffalo travels to New Jersey to face the Jets and their rush defense, which is ranked 28th in the league and allows 138 yards per game.
WR Roy Williams: It's hard to believe that the chicago bears
defense has taken such a downward spiral, but that's the reality. And the beneficiaries are opposing offenses, such as the Detroit Lions this week. The Bears and their Cover 2 scheme are allowing nearly 225 yards per game through the air, so this seems like a favorable match-up for Williams. After scoring touchdowns in three consecutive games to start the season, the big wide out has had three average games in a row, totaling 112 yards and no scores. He's too talented to be held down that long, so look for him to get going this week.(Photo: Flickr)
