Here is a look at what draft analysts are saying about what transpired in the NFL Draft.
Peter King, SI.com: The Bears had 12 draft choices this year. No quarterback picked. Chicago had nine draft choices in 2007. No quarterback picked. Chicago had seven draft choices in 2006. Three years with a quarterback need, 28 draft choices, and never a passer picked. This isn't odd. It's negligent.
Bill Williamson, ESPN.com: The Chiefs' choice of Dorsey at No. 5 was a brilliant move. … The only shock is that Dorsey fell so far. Dorsey is a dominant defensive tackle. There is little chance he will be a bust.
Pat Yasinskas, ESPN.com: LenDale White was a 1,000-yard rusher last season and the Titans probably don't need a new starter. They probably didn't get one because Chris Johnson is undersized and may be nothing more than a third-down back. Johnson is explosive and could provide a nice complement to White, but you don't draft complementary players in the first round.
Michael Blunda, Pro Football Weekly: Ellis is more than just a space-eater – he's a defensive force who will improve the saints' "D" right away. Coach Sean Payton and company will be very pleased that they moved up to take the 2008 Rookie of the Year.
Mike Florio, SportingNews.com: Enter John David Booty, the former USC quarterback who was drafted in the fifth round this past weekend. He needs to earn a roster spot before he can breathe down Jackson's neck, but if Booty shows he can get the job done, Tarvaris Jackson will be facing real pressure if he doesn't lead the offense to more points this season.
