Missouri 41, Texas Tech 10, Brandon George, Dallas Morning News: "Texas Tech came into Saturday's Top 25 showdown at Missouri looking to make a statement. And the Red Raiders did just that.
The declaration: Tech isn't ready to contend for the Big 12 South title and quarterback Graham Harrell and receiver Michael Crabtree aren't Heisman Trophy candidates."
LSU 30, Auburn 24, John Deshazier, New Orleans Times Picayune: "it makes for great theater and greater storytelling, this recently developed habit of trying to come from behind and pull out games at the very end the last three weeks, eight days ago even going so far as to include a triple-overtime affair in the drama. But the truth is it's a dangerous way to go about handling business - a really, really dangerous way.
Texas A&M 36, Nebraska 14, Mitch Sherman, Omaha World-Herald: "A&M gashed the Blackshirts, who turned in their coveted practice jerseys Tuesday, for 359 rushing yards and 459 total. Safe to say, they'll still be wearing red this week."
Florida 45, Kentucky 37, Pat Forde, ESPN.com: "I had Tebow atop my Heisman poll last week, and there's absolutely no reason to change that after this performance. The indomitable sophomore had the ball on 46 of Florida's 63 offensive plays, running it 20 hard-edged times and throwing it 26 more. He piled up 334 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns, four throwing and one running.
Tebow has accounted for 27 TDs in seven games, more than the past six quarterbacks to win the Heisman through the same point in the season."
Vanderbilt 17, South Carolina 6, Joseph Person, The State: "After it was over, after Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson received his ice-water Baptism
and the Commodores ruined a sunny, State Fair Saturday for about 79,000 South Carolina fans, Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier tried to get his players to stay on the field for the alma mater.A couple turned around to face the marching band, but most kept heading for the Williams-Brice Stadium tunnel. The day could not end soon enough for the Gamecocks."
